News: 7 days agoCunningham is getting ready for his sixth season in the league, per Coty M. Davis of The Detroit News.
Spin: Cunningham, 24, finds himself now being the longest-tenured player on the Pistons after the team traded veteran big man Isaiah Stewart to Memphis this offseason. The move puts more of an emphasis on Cunningham as a leader, and the star guard remains worthy of a first-round pick in most fantasy drafts this fall after averaging 23.9 points, 9.9 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per game last regular season.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Cunningham set career highs in assists (9.9 APG), steals (1.4 SPG) and blocks (0.8 BPG) last season while turning in the sixth-best fantasy scoring average in the league. Entering his sixth season, Cunningham looks to take another step forward as the team leader for the Pistons and a budding MVP candidate. Cunningham has only played more than 64 games in one season of his career, so durability is of concern, but he has averaged 67 games in his last two seasons ... the best two-season stretch of his career.
