News: 7 days agoCastle appears to be locked into a starting role at shooting guard, per Jared Weiss of the New York Times.
Spin: There's some discourse surrounding whether or not Dylan Harper should start over veteran De'Aaron Fox in 2026-27, but Castle seems to be safe from that debate. Castle was instrumental to the Spurs' deep playoff run last year, averaging 18.2 points, 6.1 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.5 three-pointers per game across 23 postseason appearances.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Castle increased his role and production in Year 2, up from his Rookie of the Year numbers from the season before. He was drafted as an elite defender with the size to guard wings and the speed to guard point guards, but his offense took a big leap as well. He increased his scoring average and almost doubled his assist output. When healthy, the Spurs have two other strong lead guards in De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper that may cap Castle's assist opportunities, but he has room to increase his scoring and has 20 PPG potential in Year 3.
