Every team's odds to win the 2026 World Series: Losing streak sees Mets' odds plummet

The New York Mets have lost 12 games in a row, their longest losing streak since 2002, and the betting markets are reflecting a season that seems to be quickly going off the rails. The Mets are now 25-1 to win the World Series after entering the season at 13-1 and showing 17-1 in mid-April.

No team in MLB history has made the playoffs after enduring a 12-game losing streak and New York's odds to make the postseason currently stand at +120. While the Mets aren't considered a heavy futures liability at many sportsbooks, DraftKings did note that they do perennially attract a fair amount of action due to their big-market status.

Meanwhile, very little has changed at the top of the World Series odds board over the past week with the Los Angeles Dodgers (+200) and New York Yankees (+850) continuing to look like the top contenders, although the Seattle Mariners lost a bit of steam, still sitting below .500 and moving from 11-1 to 12-1.

The next tier, however, did see some sizable shake-ups in the odds for MLB's championship. The Atlanta Braves (18-1 to 15-1) and Detroit Tigers (22-1 to 19-1) both improved their odds to move into the top six, with the Baltimore Orioles (28-1 to 22-1) San Diego Padres (40-1 to 30-1), Pittsburgh Pirates (45-1 to 40-1) and Cleveland Guardians (55-1 to 50-1) also shortening. Besides the Mets, other notable demotions include the Philadelphia Phillies (14-1 to 20-1), Toronto Blue Jays (16-1 to 20-1) and Kansas City Royals (30-1 to 45-1).

One division winner market to watch is the NL Central, which has been extremely competitive with all five teams at 12-9 or better. Illustrating this point perfectly is the Chicago Cubs -- currently tied with the Milwaukee Brewers for last in the division -- being +160 to win the division, the longest line for an odds leader across any division in MLB. Bookmakers are giving the Brewers (+275) and the Pirates and Cincinnati Reds (both +400) reasonable shots at winning the NL Central, with the St. Louis Cardinals trailing way behind at 22-1 despite a 14-9 start.
