Azariah "Azy" Jackson, the No. 20 prospect in the 2027 SC Next 100, has committed to Indiana, she told ESPN on Friday.
The 6-foot-4 forward from Washington chose the Hoosiers over Cal , USC , Kansas and North Carolina .
"The most important thing for me in this recruiting journey has been discovering genuine relationships and connections," Jackson told ESPN. "When it came to choosing Indiana, I really liked the small college town feel and the personal feeling of the visit. It felt genuine ... and started to feel like family. And I knew, when I missed them when I was away, that it was the place I was supposed to be."
Jackson, who averaged 14.6 points and 14.8 rebounds per game as a junior at Bonney Lake High School, was by the far the biggest stock riser in the class of 2027 during the spring and summer club seasons -- going from unranked into the top 20 -- before she suffered a season-ending knee injury in July. She stands out as one of the more distinctive frontcourt prospects, and is a classic, all-around forward with point forward skills as well.
Jackson's strengths lie in contributing around the basket while also handling the ball, initiating offense and attacking from the wing. She knows how to get to her spots on the floor, and her ability to create mismatches because of her size and skill makes her uniquely valuable in the class. Defensively, she protects the basket and perimeter equally well.
Jackson will miss the high school season while recovering from her injury, so it will be interesting to see how she transitions into the speed and pressures of college basketball, particularly in Bloomington. Indiana likes to space the floor and use its wings and forwards interchangeably. Jackson should slot in perfectly, particularly alongside forwards Maya Makalusky and Zania Socka-Nguemen.
Indiana now has three recruits in the 2027 class, with Jackson joining point guard Brookeslee Colvin (SC Next 100 No. 24) and wing Finley Parker (SC Next 100 No. 66). The Hoosiers finished 18-14 (6-12 Big Ten) last season and missed the 2026 NCAA tournament. They open the 2026-27 season Nov. 3 against Florida Gulf Coast.
