Finley Parcher, the No. 21 prospect in the 2027 SC Next 100, has committed to UCLA, she announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-1 guard from Lynden High School in Washington selected the Bruins from a final group that included Arizona, Gonzaga, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, UConn and Washington.
The multisport Parcher -- she also plays volleyball -- is a productive guard whose size, rebounding and ability to score from multiple areas as well as defend multiple positions distinguish her within the 2027 class.
She averaged 22.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.5 steals last season as she led Lynden to a third consecutive Washington Class 2A state championship and was named tournament MVP for the second year in a row.
Over the summer, she had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the UA Next championship game, leading team Northwest Blazers to victory. Overall, she shot 54% from the field and over 80% from the free throw line on the club circuit.
Parcher's abilities, as well as her competitiveness, will serve her well in the transition to college basketball next season. Expect her to play alongside a traditional point guard, serve as a secondary ball handler or move into a wing role.
Offensively, she can attack from the perimeter, convert pull-up opportunities and use her size against smaller guards. She also contributes away from the ball and can lead a break or get out to space the floor -- all leading to early offense opportunities.
Her ability to rebound from the perimeter also helps initiate transition opportunities and create extra offensive possessions. Defensively, she often guards the opponent's best player, regardless of position. She is a major glue player and will find ways to contribute at the next level early. Her game has elements that bring to mind Gabriela Jaquez, the Chicago Sky rookie and UCLA alum.
Parcher is the second member of the 2027 recruiting class for Cori Close, who also secured the commitment of 6-5 Spanish center Anna Smykovskaia in late September. The reigning national champions enter the 2026-27 season with a retooled, transfer-heavy roster after losing six key players to the WNBA draft. Anchored by returning sophomore forward Sienna Betts and senior forward Timea Gardiner, the Bruins open their title defense Nov. 2 against Lehigh.
