Netherlands and Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo is unavailable for the remainder of the international break, the Dutch FA have confirmed.
Gakpo was forced off the pitch after just 17 minutes during the Netherlands' 2-1 win over Serbia on Sunday after a hard tackle.
The Dutch FA said that Gakpo will now return to Liverpool and no replacement will be called up for the winger.
Netherlands head coach Xavi Hernandez said on Sunday that the injury was to Gakpo's ankle.
Gakpo had scored in the Netherlands' 1-1 draw with Germany last week in Xavi's first match in charge.

Meanwhile, Gakpo's Liverpool teammate Alexander Isak is also back at Anfield after picking up an injury in the international break.
Isak has left the Sweden squad and returned to Liverpool because of what the club has described as a "minor injury." The striker played the full match as Sweden beat Romania 2-1 on Friday but will not be involved in the country's next three Nations League matches.
The Reds are back in action when they host Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, Oct. 11.
