Guglielmo Vicario has joined Juventus on a season-long loan from Tottenham, the two clubs have announced.
There is an option to make the deal permanent for an £8.6 million ($12m) fee, sources told ESPN.
Vicario lost his No. 1 spot to Antonín Kinsky following the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi as Tottenham head coach back in April, when the club was fighting relegation. Despite infamously being subbed off against Atlético Madrid after just 17 minutes by former head coach Igor Tudor, Kinsky bounced back and made several vital saves during the run-in to help Spurs escape relegation.
Vicario was sidelined with an injury for the final seven games of the season and has not played for Spurs since.
Martin Dúbravka joined Spurs this summer on a free transfer from Burnley and is expected to serve as the back-up 'keeper to Kinsky.
Vicario has made 117 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Serie A side Empoli three years ago.
The Italy international is the latest player to leave Spurs, as the team undergoes a transformation
They have parted ways with Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, Radu Dragusin, Yves Bissouma, Luka Vuskovic, Will Lankshear, Manor Solomon and more this summer, while there have been a slew of new arrivals, including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
Juventus, meanwhile, have signed Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent deal (Kolo Muani was on loan at Spurs last season), while Kerim Alejbegovic and Jeff Ekhator have also joined the Italian giants.
