United States teammates Sergiño Dest and Ricardo Pepi combined for the winning goal to give PSV Eindhoven their first victory of the Dutch league season on Saturday.
With PSV tied 1-1 with hosts Excelsior in the 56th minute, Dest supplied a perfect cross from the right wing that Pepi met with a low first-time finish into the net.
The duo were a part of the U.S roster at this summer's World Cup and both featured in the defeat to Belgium that saw the team exit in the round of 16.

After opening their Eredivisie campaign with a 2-2 home draw against Fortuna Sittard last week, champions PSV were looking to secure their first win as they visited Excelsior.
Peter Bosz's side struck early, breaking the deadlock after just five minutes when Ruben van Bommel tapped in a rebound from Paul Wanner's shot.
Excelsior levelled in the 54th minute, when Casper Widell headed past Matej Kovář to make it 1-1.
But PSV restored their lead almost immediately as Pepi scored two minutes later to clinch all three points for the visitors.
PSV will host FC Groningen next Sunday in Eindhoven.
