News: 1 day agoWilliamson entered training camp in "impeccable condition," according to Pelicans executive Joe Dumars, who challenged the forward to prioritize his conditioning this offseason, according to New Orleans reporter Shamit Dua.
Spin: Dumars said Williamson accomplished that goal and has also been encouraged to expand his offensive game by taking more jumpers. Williamson is listed at 277 pounds, down from 284 last season, and improving his conditioning and perimeter game could help him remain productive while handling a significant role for New Orleans.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Williamson played 62 games last season, a positive bounce-back from the 30 he played the season before, and the second-most games he has played in the eight seasons since he was drafted. Williamson also had his smallest role with the Pelicans last season, notching career-lows in both points and rebounds per game. The Pelicans have a lot of startable talent in their frontcourt, including young players they want to build around, so Williamson's role and future with the Pelicans have enough questions to limit his fantasy upside even beyond the availability concerns.
