Julia Zigiotti Olme's sixth-minute lob proved enough to earn Manchester United boss Eva Olid a second Women's Super League (WSL) victory of the season after a 1-0 home win over Liverpool.
Zigiotti Olme capitalised on a mistake by Liverpool goalkeeper Khiara Keating and, despite some late pressure by Gareth Taylor's side, United held on to make it back-to-back league wins.
After a shaky start under new head coach Olid, the Spaniard has now masterminded four consecutive victories in all competitions with United unbeaten in five matches.
This was United's 250th match since the team reformed in 2018 and Olid watched her side mark the occasion with the breakthrough after six minutes.
It was a moment to forget for England goalkeeper Keating after her pass out from the back was intercepted by Zigiotti Olme, who composed herself and chipped home in superb fashion.
United pushed for a second, but Liverpool almost pulled level midway through the first half as Phallon Tullis-Joyce pulled off a fine double save to thwart Cornelia Kapocs.
Olid's side went agonisingly close to making it 2-0 with 37 minutes played when Jess Park brought the ball forward and fired against the crossbar before Keating pushed Andrea Medina's follow-up wide.
There was still time for Keating to be equal to another Medina strike before the Spaniard was withdrawn soon after half-time with talented teenager Mared Griffiths sent on.

Liverpool continued to struggle to create clear-cut openings and only fine defending by Jenna Clark denied Maya Le Tissier a goal with her flick cleared off the line.
Clark was then involved up the other end but miscued her header from a corner and United survived before Elisabeth Terland then squandered a good chance to make the points safe.
Three minutes of added time offered Liverpool hope, but Kapocs headed straight at Tullis-Joyce and Olid toasted a fourth straight win.
