Formula 1 in 2026: Full schedule as race calendar drops from 24 to 22 after Bahrain, Saudi cancellations

The 2026 Formula 1 season features new rules, new cars and new opportunities as Lando Norris looks to fend off the chasing pack after winning his first driver's title last year.

This year the grid expands to 11 teams and 22 drivers with the addition of Cadillac. Similarly, Audi will take to the grid having taken over the Sauber team.

The grid has dropped from 24 races to 22 thanks to the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia cancellations -- but what are the key dates?

Here's everything for your calendar.

The Formula 1 2026 calendar

Two weeks after preseason testing, the season began in Melbourne, Australia.

There are then 21 more races all around the world, with the U.S. hosting more than any other nation with three -- in Miami (May 3), Austin (Oct. 25 and Las Vegas (Nov. 21) -- and Spain welcoming a newcomer in Madrid.

We'll also have six sprint weekends to look forward to, including the British Grand Prix and the Singapore Grand Prix, featuring more racing, and more points on offer.

Round 1 - March 6-8: Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne

Round 2 - March 13-15: Chinese Grand Prix, Shanghai (sprint weekend)

Round 3 - March 27-29: Japanese Grand Prix, Suzuka

Round 4 - April 10-12: Bahrain Grand Prix, Sakhir

Round 5 - April 17-19: Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Jeddah

Round 4 - May 1-3: Miami Grand Prix, Miami (sprint weekend)

Round 5 - May 22-24: Canadian Grand Prix, Montreal (sprint weekend)

Preseason testing

In 2026, there were six days of official preseason testing in Bahrain, as well as a four-day private test in Barcelona in January behind closed doors.
