10.55pm We have witnessed a knock that'll go down as a World Cup classic, and it's helped England become the first team to book a semi-final birth. Brook also became the first England captain to score a century in men's T20Is. England will now shift focus to New Zealand before worrying about the big game coming up after that. For Pakistan, they would now want Brook and co. to deliver a win against New Zealand to improve their chances of making the semis. They'll be watching keenly when Sri Lanka and New Zealand face off tomorrow. This group is wide open with plenty of action to come. But for tonight, on behalf of Alan, Thilak and Vairavan, it's Abhimanyu signing off. Goodnight!
10.45pm Time for the presentation ceremony
Harry Brook: "[On reaching the semis] We've come here to do that job and we got it done. [On his move to No. 3] Baz the mastermind behind it. He came up in the morning and spoke with me. We wanted to try and maximise the powerplay a little more. They know I like to take the game on. Thankfully it came off and we got a decent start. [Did he want a promotion up the order?] I'd been thinking about it for a while. [On his record vs Pakistan] Baz said that this morning - 'what do you think about No. 3? Pakistan is your team'. [Wickets in the powerplay] Important in any game of T20 cricket to get off to a good start and Jofra's been able to do that. Puts them on the back foot early. Always nice to just win a game of cricket. A bit nervy at the end. I was about to say to Baz 'hopefully this isn't another Oval (vs India)'. [The top order] That's something for me and Baz to have a chat about. I don't think much will change, but you never know."
Salman Agha: "Started well with the bat but couldn't finish the way we wanted to. But some days you have to give credit to other batters. I think Harry batted brilliantly. Our score was a bit short. And then Brook took the game away from us. We threw everything at him. [On Farhan] I think he's batted very well throughout the World Cup. Other batters haven't played the way we wanted to but it can happen like that in World Cups. [Afridi] He bowled really well today. He's famous for early wickets and he did that today. Whenever we play against England and lose, it's always him. have to say hats off to him and the way he batted today. Very challenging, the way he batted. He can play all around the ground so it can get challenging. They batted really well against Tariq. They didn't go hard against him. Still he got two wickets. The way Nawaz bowled the 19th over, I thought maybe, you never know. Even if there's a 1% chance my team will go for it."
Harry Brook is the POTM: "Just nice to get through to the semis. We have one more game against New Zealand and we'll focus on that, but then. [On his move to No. 3] Baz came to me in the morning and said we may change it up and put you up at No. 3. We have spoken about being able to adapt and the bravery to do that was great. Nice to get out there and face as many balls as possible. [On Pakistan] They are always good. Some world class players there. Just nice to get over the line. There's always areas we want to improve on and you can never quite get perfection but we're always striving for it. [Emotions on the hundred] I was just happy to get the job done, to be honest. We were in a tricky situation to start, and a couple of partnerships after that. Nice to get over the line."
Mustafa Moudi : "Finally a successful chase and Finally a Nail-Biter in Super 8 !!"
James : "Brook 100 off 51Rest of England 62 off 62 " -- Sensational solo display today!
Abhishek: "How did England qualify. SL can reach 4 points still if England lose the next game? " -- If Sri Lanka get to four points, it means neither New Zealand or Pakistan will get four points.
10.35pm Harry Brook was a one-man army as he stood tall amid early wickets, aggressive from the start, smart in the middle, and then getting to his century with a flurry of boundaries to finish. The England captain became the first captain to score a T20 World Cup century, and with that, has lifted England to their fifth consecutive semi-final -- a feat no one has achieved before. Pakistan's score was just about par, if not a little under, but when they had England three down in the powerplay, and then four down one over later, they would have felt they are in a strong position. But Brook's belligerence blew them away, giving them enough cushion to lose two more wickets even after he departed and still get the win comfortably enough.
Salman Mirza will bowl the last over. Jofra Archer on strike
Jambu: "Anyone for Super over?" -- Raunak Kapoor predicted that on our show! And it's a possibility now!
Amit: "If England lose this from here, everyone should stay clear of Harry Brook in the dressing room."
Well, this has suddenly turned into a tense finish! Out walks Jofra Archer
