BYU star RB Martin, LB Glasker to sit out Friday vs. Iowa State

BYU standout running back LJ Martin and linebacker Isaiah Glasker are listed as out for Friday's game against Iowa State, according to the Big 12 availability report.

Martin, the 2025 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, and Glasker left last week's 17-10 win at TCU in the first half and did not return. Coach Kalani Sitake had said Monday that both players are doubtful for the Iowa State game, and defensive coordinator Kelly Poppinga said on BYUtv's "Coordinators' Corner" show that the team hopes to get Glasker back "in the next week or two."

Glasker had two interceptions, three sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble last season. He has 13 tackles with two quarterback hurries this fall.

Martin has 344 rushing yards and three touchdowns this season, averaging 7.8 yards per carry, after leading the Big 12 with 1,305 rushing yards and 12 scores in 2025. He suffered a lower-body injury against TCU. BYU is likely to turn to Preston Rex without Martin, and Jake Clifton is set to start in Glasker's spot against the Cyclones.

After Friday's game, No. 8 BYU will host No. 3 Notre Dame on Oct. 17.
