News: 3 days agoTolbert secured one of three targets for 27 yards in the Dolphins' 20-7 preseason loss to the Commanders on Friday.

Spin: Tolbert, who currently slots in as the No. 2 receiver on the Dolphins' unofficial depth chart, made his one reception on Miami's second drive of the night after Quinn Ewers had replaced Malik Willis under center. Tolbert showed some promise two seasons ago with the Cowboys when he posted a career-best 49-610-7 line on 79 targets over 17 regular-season games, but a downturn in 2025 led to his availability this offseason. Tolbert should have a good chance of garnering a meaningful role in his new Miami digs this season if he can continue impressing this summer, given the Dolphins' dearth of proven options at the position.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Tolbert signed with Miami after spending his first four NFL seasons in Dallas. The 2022 third-round pick has a path to a substantial offensive role, with Malik Washington, Tutu Atwell and rookies Chris Bell and Caleb Douglas as his top competition for snaps and targets. We have seen Tolbert as a near-full-time player in a much better offense and he wasn't much of a fantasy option. That came in 2024 when he played 76% of the Cowboys' offensive snaps. He found the end zone seven times, but was held to 610 yards and finished 54th among receivers in fantasy PPG. Tolbert played a reduced role last season and his 203 yards were the fewest since his rookie season. The 27-year-old has very limited upside and isn't worth much late-round consideration.
