Allisha Gray exits Game 1 with hand injury (0:47)

ATLANTA -- Dream guard Allisha Gray exited Sunday's 92-82 semifinal Game 1 win over the Liberty early with a left hand injury, the team said.

Gray initially injured her left shooting hand at the end of the first quarter, leaving for the locker room before returning early in the second period with her pinkie and ring finger taped, which she ditched not long after checking back in.

But with less than four minutes left in the half, Gray appeared to reinjure her hand, departing once more for the locker room and shortly after being ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Gray, who scored seven points in 11 minutes, returned to the Dream bench during the third quarter with a splint on her finger.

"I don't have an update at this time, so hopefully she'll be okay," Dream coach Karl Smesko said after the win. "Obviously, she's been a huge reason we've been so successful this year, and it was tough to see her not out there. But really proud of how the team pulled together and how they played in the game."

The 6-foot-0 guard and four-time All-Star out of South Carolina was the Dream's top scorer this season, averaging 19.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She was also their top scorer (22.0 PPG) during a first-round sweep of the No. 5 seed Washington Mystics as Atlanta secured its first semifinals berth since 2018.

"You never want to see your teammate go down. We know Lish is a big piece to our team," Atlanta's Jordin Canada said. "She brings a lot to our team offensively and defensively. But it's next man up mentality that we have. We told her that we had her back, and whoever comes off the bench or one of the starters, we've got to bring it for her. We said that at halftime, we said that going into the third quarter. And so, I think everybody just pulled together and did their job."
