News: 10 hours agoNurse will start Wednesday's preseason game against the Sun, Chelsea Leite of The IX Sports reports.
Spin: With Marina Mabrey (back) and Brittney Sykes (hip) out, Nurse will start Toronto's preseason opener. She'll be joined in the first unit by Alexa Held, Kiki Rice, Nyara Sabally and Temi Fagbenle.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Nurse served mainly as a starter in three of her first four WNBA seasons, but she's had to settle for a part-time starting role across the past three years. The 30-year-old has had relatively consistent production across those three seasons despite playing for three different teams in Seattle, Los Angeles and Chicago, averaging 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20.6 minutes per game. Availability hasn't been a concern for Nurse, who has appeared in every regular-season game in three consecutive seasons, and she's able to contribute in multiple areas. She's a somewhat high-floor, low-ceiling fantasy option who should be considered with late-round picks in most fantasy formats, but managers should be prepared to use her as a streaming option, especially if she's used as a part-time starter once again after agreeing to terms with the Tempo.
