Al Nassr coach Ange Postecoglou has refused to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo's walk-out from the Portugal team but did reveal the veteran forward's "morale is very high."

Ronaldo, 41, returned to his club on Monday after leaving the national team camp during the international window following a fallout with Portugal's new head coach, Jorge Jesus.

The Portugal captain released a statement accusing Jesus, his former Al Nassr coach, of broken promises.

On Wednesday, Jesus made a one-sentence statement to reporters, commenting on Ronaldo's accusations: "I read the statement and now, like I do every day, I am going to the federation to work, to think about the team and the national team"

Asked about Ronaldo's situation, Postecoglou said ahead of Al Nassr's league game against Al Draih on Thursday: "Ronaldo played for us with full commitment and his morale is very high. I'm his coach now at Al Nassr, and he is a great addition to our team.

"I don't like to talk about what happened with his national team."

Ronaldo was an unused substitute in Portugal's 2-1 UEFA Nations League win away at Norway on Sept. 27. He left the national team camp shortly after Jorge Jesus said he was not planning to start Ronaldo in their game at Denmark on Oct. 1.

Postecoglou has said that Ronaldo is ready to play for Al Nassr: "Ronaldo has returned and is ready to play.

"I previously coached a national team [Australia] for four years, and I don't like club managers talking about national team managers, so I won't comment on that."

Ronaldo, who apologised to his Portugal teammates and also stated he will accept whatever punishment is meted out by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), is hoping to play again with the national team.

Portugal won all four of their Nations League games in the international break. They have two more matches to come -- against Denmark and Wales in November -- which is the next time Ronaldo could feasibly be called up by his country.

Ronaldo has scored a record 146 goals in 234 appearances for Portugal.

He lifted the Saudi Pro League title last season with Al Nassr under coach Jorge Jesus.
