Harry Kane is set to match Peter Shilton's all-time England caps record after being named in England's starting XI for the country's Nations League match against Czechia on Tuesday.
Kane joins Shilton on 125 caps, five more than third-placed Wayne Rooney.
Goalkeeper Shilton has held the record since his final England game -- the third-play playoff at the 1990 World Cup. His international career spanned 19 years and he played 20 games at major tournaments, and kept 66 clean sheets overall.
Kane, 33, can eclipse the record if he earns a 126th cap when England host Croatia on Nov. 12. The Bayern Munich striker is already his country's top goalscorer with 89.
The England captain made his England debut back in March 2015 against Lithuania, scoring only 79 seconds after coming off the bench.
Throughout his career he has captained the England squad on numerous occasions -- the 5 major tournaments include: 2018 World Cup, Euro 2020, 2022 World Cup, Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.
Over time he has become England's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Wayne Rooney's previous record of 53 goals in March 2023 against Italy. Not to mention, in September 2024 Kane made his 100th England appearance against Finland at Wembley, scoring twice in a 2-0 Nations League victory to mark the achievement.
Kane will captain England on his record-equalling appearance, with Jordan Pickford in goal and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarell Quansah, Marc Guéhi and Lewis Hall in defence. Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham and Myles Lewis-Skelly are also among those named in Tuchel's starting XI, while Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze will support Kane in attack.
