United States striker Folarin Balogun has said that he would still be keen to play in the Premier League, even though his transfer deadline day move to Everton collapsed in dramatic fashion.
Balogun, 25, backed out of a move to the Toffees after Everton and Monaco started to restructure the terms of his transfer after issues were raised during the his medical examination at Everton's Finch Farm training ground.
Asked by talkSPORT if a Premier League move is something that he'd still be interested in, Balogun said: "Yes, potentially.
"Football has many twists and turns as we've seen after the World Cup.
"I was close to a transfer, didn't materialise, but for sure it's definitely an option."
Monaco sporting director Thiago Scuro said at the time that Balogun abandoned the move due to concerns over his treatment by the Merseyside club.
The former Arsenal forward continues to play his football at Monaco, after a high-profile summer in which he put in some solid performances for the USMNT at the World Cup but also found himself the subject of a major controversy.
Balogun picked up a red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 and was subsequently banned from the USMNT's round of 16 clash with Belgium.
But then, the red card and ban were overturned by FIFA after U.S. President Donald Trump asked FIFA chief Gianni Infantino to review the decision.
Infantino said the decision was not influenced by Trump. Balogun was handed a suspended ban that allowed him to play against Belgium, but the UMSNT lost and were eliminated from the tournament.
