Carlos Baleba played his first minutes in a Manchester United shirt during a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday.

The 22-year-old signed from Brighton in a £70 million ($93m) deal in August but has not featured in a competitive game due to an ankle injury sustained in preseason with the Seagulls.

He did make the bench for the 1-1 draw at Fulham immediately prior to the international break and has continued working towards full fitness at the club's Carrington training complex.

Baleba took part in a training game against Swiss side Lausanne-Sport alongside fellow first-teamers including Harry Maguire and Matheus Cunha.

Head coach Michael Carrick told club media recently that Baleba was "pushing to get back as quickly as possible" from injury.
