Barcelona thrashed Real Madrid 6-0 in the second leg of their Women's Champions League quarterfinal to march into the semifinals.
The Catalan side already have one foot in the semifinal after a dominant 6-2 win in the first leg, with goals through Ewa Pajor, Esmee Brugts, Vicky López and Alexia Putellas. Linda Caicedo's double leaves Madrid with a fighting chance at progression.
In front of a sellout crowd at the Camp Nou, the hosts put on a show and raced into a 4-0 lead by half time with Putellas, Pajor, Graham Hansen and Irene Paredes all getting on the scoresheet. They added two more in the second half through Graham Hansen's second of the night and Brugts.
It was an especially special night for Barcelona captain Putellas, who marked her 500th appearance for the club in style.
Up next for the Spanish side are Bayern Munich in the semifinals and they go in as overwhelming favourites.
