The NRL season may be over, but the player market is already heating up ahead of November 1, with clubs beginning to shape their rosters for 2027 and beyond.
From player movement to changes behind the scenes, ESPN NRL Insider Isaac Issa has the latest whispers from around the competition.
Raiders close in on Pahulu
The Canberra Raiders are closing in on Melbourne Storm prop Josiah Pahulu, ESPN understands.
Sources indicate a deal is close to being struck, with Pahulu likely to make the switch to the nation's capital in 2027.
Pahulu had one year left to run on his Melbourne deal, but will depart the club early in a bid to secure a first-grade role.
Broncos eye Knights recruiter
Recruitment guru Peter O'Sullivan could look to leave the Newcastle Knights in 2027, with the Brisbane Broncos eyeing his services.
Sources have indicated to ESPN that O'Sullivan has ties to Brisbane, with the Broncos understood to be interested in luring the highly regarded recruiter to Queensland for 2027.
Veteran Newcastle reporter Barry Toohey has also reported Brisbane's interest in O'Sullivan.
Knights confirm Frizell departure
The Newcastle Knights have confirmed Tyson Frizell will depart the club ahead of 2027.
ESPN reported earlier this year that the Wests Tigers were eyeing Frizell's signature, as Benji Marshall looks to add further experience to his roster alongside fellow veterans Kurt Mann and Jayden Brailey.
He's expected to join the club on a one-year deal in 2027.
Staying at Souths?
Peter Mamozelous could find himself in Rabbitohs colours for at least one more season, ESPN understands.
After reports emerged earlier this year that the young hooker was on the outer at South Sydney, sources have since indicated he intends to see out his contract with the Rabbitohs in 2027.
There is yet to be any indication on his future beyond next season.
South Sydney were contacted for comment.
