RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori passed his physical, the team announced Tuesday, clearing the way for his return off the physically unable to perform list.
The Seahawks also announced Tuesday that fullback Robbie Ouzts has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Emmanwori began training camp on the PUP list after undergoing surgery in July on his right ankle, which he sprained before Super Bowl LX. The Seahawks were optimistic after the procedure that he'd be ready for the team's Sept. 9 season opener against the New England Patriots.
Emmanwori, a second-round pick in 2025, suffered a high ankle sprain in the first series of last season's opener, causing him to miss the remainder of that game and the following three. He suffered a low sprain on the same ankle four days before Super Bowl LX but played through the injury in Seattle's 29-13 victory.
Emmanwori's recovery was documented on last week's season premiere of "Hard Knocks, showing him wearing a boot on his right foot and getting around on a scooter. He has since ditched both, walking around during practice without a noticeable limp.
Ouzts, a fifth-round pick in 2025, has been dealing with a neck injury since last season's playoffs, which forced him to miss the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl.
The Seahawks have two other fullbacks on their 90-man roster in Brady Russell and Brock Lampe. Russell, who's been with Seattle since his rookie season in 2023, is a converted tight end and the Seahawks' de facto special teams captain. Seattle signed Lampe, a second-year player, last week.
