News: 2 days agoHenderson rushed eight times for 23 yards and brought in his only target for six yards in the Patriots' 35-6 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Spin: Playing in his second game of the season, Henderson led the Patriots in carries and rushing yards, yet each of those figures were only one more than those generated by backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson. Henderson had a much more efficient showing in his Week 2 season debut with a 16-carry, 76-yard, one-touchdown showing against the Steelers, but game script had a significant impact on the volume for both of the Patriots' backs Sunday. Henderson will look to get back on track in a key Week 4 road divisional matchup against the Bills next Sunday.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Henderson enters Year 2 after a roller-coaster rookie campaign in which he delivered three huge fantasy performances (28-plus points in all three) but otherwise played second fiddle to Rhamondre Stevenson (8.3 points per game in his other 14 games). Though his role was limited, Henderson was effective, averaging 5.1 yards per carry (eighth best) and catching 83% of his targets while scoring 10 touchdowns. The 2025 second-round pick is a candidate for a similar role in 2026, but it's unlikely that Stevenson will completely disappear after he also had a strong 2025. Henderson is safest as a bench option, but there's upside for a lot more if the 23-year-old is promoted to a lead role.
