News: 1 day agoMarks turned five carries into 15 yards and a touchdown and hauled in his lone target for six yards during the Texans' 19-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also returned two kickoffs for 52 yards.

Spin: Marks and David Montgomery both averaged only 3.0 yards per carry during Sunday's loss, though the former found the end zone for the first time this season on a one-yard rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Marks' 20 snaps on offense was behind Montgomery's 34, though neither running back has found much success in the rushing attack in each of the Texans' last two games. Houston will look to avoid an 0-4 start to the season in Week 4 against Dallas.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Marks, a fourth-round NFL draft pick in 2025, played a substantial role as a rookie, soaking up 220 touches (22nd among RBs), but he struggled with efficiency (his 3.59 yards per carry and 1.61 yards after contact both ranked near the basement) and found the end zone only five times. The result was 9.4 fantasy points per game and one top-10 fantasy outing. Marks appears ticketed for a lesser role in 2026 now that David Montgomery was brought in to serve as the likely leader of a backfield committee. Especially in an offense that doesn't use backs in the passing game very much, Marks is no more than a bench/insurance stash.
