News: 2 days agoShough completed 29 of 42 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 35-27 loss to the Raiders. He added 36 rushing yards on his lone carry but also lost two fumbles.

Spin: The second-year QB was dynamic once again, tossing two TDs each to tight ends Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant, but protection issues in the absence of left tackle Kelvin Banks (ankle) ending up proving costly as all four of the Saints' fourth-quarter possessions ended in turnovers, causing them to squander a 27-22 lead. Shough has thrown eight touchdowns through three games but has also given the ball away six times (three INTs and three lost fumbles), and he'll try to clean up those issues in Week 4 at home against the Falcons.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: One of the surprise second-half breakout players of 2025, Shough scored 17-plus fantasy points in seven of his nine full games, including six straight to end the season. The 2025 second-round pick was a solid producer with his arm (250.1 passing yards per game) and his legs (19.3 rushing yards per game and three TDs). Shough didn't show a high ceiling (he never reached 22 fantasy points in a game), though that can be traced to a shaky supporting cast. That's an area that should be better in 2026 with Travis Etienne Jr. and No. 8 overall pick Jordyn Tyson (once healthy) joining the team. He's still unproven, but Shough enters Year 2 (same as coach Kellen Moore) as an intriguing fantasy breakout candidate. He's worth a look in the later rounds.
