News: 3 days agoHubbard rushed 19 times for 82 yards and brought in all four targets for 28 yards in the Panthers' 21-18 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Spin: As expected, Hubbard dominated the touches out of the Panthers backfield, outpacing AJ Dillon by 15 carries. Hubbard also played his customary pass-game role with efficacy, recording a new season high in receptions along the way. He's upped his rushing yardage total over that of the previous contest in each game so far, and considering Jonathon Brooks (abdomen, IR) will remain unavailable for the foreseeable future, the former lines up for another workhorse role in a Week 4 home showdown against the Lions next Sunday night.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Hubbard is coming off a disappointing 2025 campaign in which he battled injury and lost lead-back duties to Rico Dowdle. The veteran was limited to 734 yards on 164 touches (he cleared 275 touches and 1,100 yards in 2023 and 2024), and he ranked 64th among 65 qualified backs in forced missed tackle rate and elusive rating, per PFF. Still in his prime at age 27, a bounce-back season is possible, especially with Dowdle gone and unproven Jonathon Brooks as his competition for touches. Hubbard should be considered a flex/bench option.
