News: 12 hours agoEngram failed to haul in his two targets during the Broncos' 30-26 win over the Rams on Sunday.

Spin: Although he wasn't listed as a starter, Engram's 40 offensive snaps led all Broncos tight ends, including Adam Trautman (27). That's little comfort to those expecting Engram to at least see some involvement in the offense, with the veteran tight end sporting a 5-60-1 receiving line on eight targets through the first three games of the regular season. He's recorded at least 60 targets in each of his first nine NFL seasons, though he's well behind pace to meet that mark in 2026. Perhaps Engram's fortune will be better in Week 4 against the 49ers, whose defense gave up nine catches (on 11 targets) for 75 yards to Trey McBride in a Week 3 win over the Cardinals.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Engram returns for his second season in Denver after an underwhelming debut campaign with the team. The veteran tight end was limited to a career-low 13% target share and finished 15th or lower among tight ends in routes, targets, catches and yardage, despite appearing in 16 games. Engram worked as a short-area target but still struggled to a poor 68% catch rate and was, as usual, a nonfactor near the goal line (one TD, two end zone targets). Engram hasn't cleared four touchdowns in a season since he scored six as a rookie in 2017. He finished 32nd among tight ends in fantasy PPG and isn't a good bet for a larger role this season, especially with Jaylen Waddle added to the offense. The 32-year-old Engram is a fantasy TE3, at best.
