Portugal 2-1 Croatia: Ramos, Ronaldo goals lead Portugal to dramatic win - as it happened

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonçalo Ramos saw Portugal defeat Croatia 2-1 in a dramatic round-of-32 clash in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and you can relive the action, as it happened, below.

A goalless first half saw Portugal dominate most of the ball but were unable to create any clear-cut chances. The game sparked to life in the 53rd minute, when Ivan Perisic lashed in a low strike across goal to give Croatia the lead. Ronaldo then dragged Portugal level from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, after Nikola Vlasic fouled Renato Veiga in the box.

Roberto Martinez substituted Ronaldo in the 81st minute, and it was another of his substitutes, Ramos, who headed Portugal into the lead in the 94th minute of the game, rising high to power in from Rafael Leão's cross. There was further drama in store, as Rúben Neves' own goal in the 13th minute of injury time looked to have given Croatia a lifeline, only for the referee to rule the goal out for offside after a VAR check.

Portugal held on for a famous win, and face Spain in the round-of-16.
