GOLD COAST -- ESPN's coverage of the AFC Women's Asian Cup continued with the Matildas defeating Iran 4-0 at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.
Goals to Amy Sayer, Mary Fowler, and a double to Alanna Kennedy gave the Matildas all three points on a rainy, humid night on the Gold Coast. Following South Korea's 3-0 win over the Philippines earlier in the day, Australia needed a minimum of six goals to move into top spot in Group A. With only four, they sit in second heading into a crucial last group stage game against South Korea in Sydney on Sunday.
