Jos Verstappen escaped injury following a nasty accident while taking part in a rally event in Belgium on Sunday.
The father of Max Verstappen lost control of his Skoda Fabia RS rally car while competing on a tree-lined special stage at the Rallye de Wallonie.
Both Verstappen, 54, and his co-driver, Jasper Vermeulen, were unhurt in the accident, which caused extensive damage to the car after it hit a post and rolled.
"It was in fourth gear to the right," Verstappen explained in a social media post. "It was dusty, there was gravel, I think we went into the corner slightly to fast.
"At the end of the corner the car broke out on the back side, then we hit the post. Due to the hit the car was spinning in circles and then we landed upside down.

"Most importantly Jasper and myself came out of the car safely.
"It was a big crash, but the cars are so safe, this proves it again, I'm happy we came out well."
Jos Verstappen, a former Formula 1 driver, regularly competes in rallies and has taken multiple class victories at events in recent years.
He was running third at the Rallye de Wallonie on Sunday before his accident.
