For the first time in the 2026-27 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, two big three giants square off as Kaizer Chiefs host Mamelodi Sundowns in the South African Premiership at FNB Stadium.
Chiefs picked up wins over Kruger United and Sekhukhune United in their first two league games. Sundowns, meanwhile, began with a 3-2 win over TS Galaxy.
Last season, Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso was frustrated with Kaizer Chiefs' physical, aggressive style of play in a 1-1 draw that proved consequential in the Brazilians losing the title race to Orlando Pirates. Sundowns bounced back by winning the CAF Champions League.
This season, Kaizer Chiefs are under new leadership after Fernando da Cruz took over from Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze. The Frenchman faces his biggest test yet against Cardoso's side.
