Toss Royal Challengers Bengaluru chose to bowl vs Mumbai Indians
Rajat Patidar, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain, chose to bowl in the franchise's first game in Raipur, their second home for the season, against Mumbai Indians (MI). The match will be played on a black-soil pitch with cracks on its surface; Patidar noted that it looked "good" and "pretty hard".
RCB named an unchanged squad from their defeat to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday, with Tim David in the starting XI and Devdutt Padikkal dropping onto the Impact Player bench.
MI were unchanged too, with Suryakumar Yadav leading them in the continued absence of Hardik Pandya, who had missed their last game against LSG with back spasms. With MI batting first here, Rohit Sharma starts in the XI, with legspinner Raghu Sharma starting on the bench.
MI are in ninth place and a defeat will put them out of contention for the playoffs. RCB are in fourth, and a win will put them top of the table; they come into this game on the back of defeats in their last two matches.
