Sri Lanka 154 for 4 (Samarawickrama 49, Athapaththu 42, Sultana 1-21) beat Bangladesh 133 for 5 (Sharmin 44, Ferdous 29, Dilhari 2-15) by 21 runs

Sri Lanka clinched the T20I series against Bangladesh after a clinical 21-run win in the second match in Sylhet. The visitors' combination of spinners and fielding put a chokehold on Bangladesh who looked stranded in the contest.

Batting first, Sri Lanka put up a competitive 154-4 for in 20 overs, with Harshitha Samarawickrama again leading with the bat. She top scored with 49 off 29 balls with six boundaries including two sixes.

Samarawickrama, who made a half century in the first T20I joined Nilakshika Silva, who made 22*, to form an unbroken 61-run stand for the fifth wicket. Sri Lanka once again got a scoring boost from captain Chamari Athapaththu, who made a quick fire 42. Their innings picked up pace gradually after a 35-run powerplay as they made 69 in the middle overs and 50 at the death.

Bangladesh made a decent start in the powerplay, before Kavisha Dilhari removed Dilara Akter for 23. Juairiya Ferdous also contributed with 29 but only Sharmin Akhter pressed ahead with a meaningful score.

Sharmin remained unbeaten on 44 off 47 balls as the rest collapsed in a heap. Bangladesh conceded three run outs in the innings while Dilhari took the other two wickets that fell.

The tour ends with the third T20I on May 2, as Jamie Siddons enjoys success in his first series as Sri Lanka coach.
