Steve Smith, Washington Freedom Captain: Player: I chose to bat. Maybe it was a bit of a miscalculation on our part. It was a little wetter tonight than it had been over the last couple of games, so batting second might have been a bit nicer. But you can't take anything away from Pretorius and Finn; their hitting was world-class, and it's pretty tough to stop when those two get going. We thought 190 was a decent total on that wicket in the first innings. Obviously, we're disappointed with the way we started with the ball. They got off to a flying start and took the game away from us. But I thought we batted reasonably well. We played three games and got one win. It would've been nice to get two, but it's been great to play in front of the fans. We've had good fun, and now it's onto the next leg

Unicorns soar to the top of the table with an emphatic victory! Lhuan-dré Pretorius and Finn Allen raced to 100 in the powerplay, and that basically put the game to bed, making life easy for the batters to come. Matthew Short and Aaron Hardie did the remaining work and capped off a comfortable win, making 190 look like 120. Thanks to Pretorius' ballistic batting and Allen's awesome pyrotechnics, the game quickly became one-way traffic. There was nothing for the bowlers on this track and it was all about the class of the openers. Earlier, Washington Freedom posted a decent total and would have been fairly content with what they got on the board but they were left stunned by the young next big thing, Pretorius, who went berserk from ball one. What a special talent he is! Hope you were entertained as much as we were. That's it from this cracking game. See you in the next leg of the MLC. Till then, good night and goodbye.
