And that wraps things up from here. But the LPL isn't done for the day, as a resurgent Galle Gladiators will be taking on a Colombo Stars side looking to stay alive in the tournament. That match will get underway in a little under an hour, but on behalf of Fidel, Ranjith and Sudeep, this is Madushka signing off!
Winning captain Wanindu Hasaranga: "Yeah we're definitely playing with confidence. Our boys have played really well. Chamindu bowled really well, playing as our under-23 player. We can also change our team up and that gives me good options."
Losing captain Dasun Shanaka: "It's so embarrassing. On other days we've struggled with the bat, today with the ball as well. Every game there have been mistakes. We just need to try and do all three aspects better and win the next games. [what exactly is the problem?] Nothing happens for us. Bowlers to don't bowl well, and then the batters don't take responsibility. We all are established players and we need to take responsibility in the middle."
Player of the Match goes to Kamindu Mendis for his 58 off 40 deliveries: "Pathum and Fletch got a good partnership, they did their job. And then I just had to go out their, rotate the strike, and build a partnership with Fletch. [plan or target] We had a target of about 170-plus, that was a good score to defend we felt."
Stay tuned as we'll have the post-match presentation shortly.
As for today, it was a game that was dominated by Falcons from start to finish. Each member of their top order chipped in, and then their bowlers, led by Carlos Brathwaite and Chamika Karunaratne, ensured Aura would never really get their chase going. Aura for their part were guilty of throwing their wickets away, while their display in the field will also be one to forget.
6.19pm Falcons then back to winning ways, and what's more, they're back at the top of the table, pipping Jaffna Kings on net run rate. As for Dambulla, their hopes of qualification are in tatters. Four losses out of four mean they need to up their own game while also hoping for other results to go their way.
