Oleksandr Usyk has revealed the two fights he wants to finish his career after he takes on kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.
Heavyweight champion Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) will return to the ring on May 23 against Verhoeven in an intriguing fight in front of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, with his WBC title on the line.
The 39-year-old has made varying statements on when he plans to retire in the recent past, but has now said he has three bouts left before he wants to step away, with the winner of Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois and Tyson Fury his targets after fighting Verhoeven.
"Listen, Rico [Verhoeven] this is first. Second, it's who wins, Wardley or Dubois and third fight, it's my friend, greedy belly Tyson Fury," Usyk told Inside the Ring.
Usyk is expected to breeze past Verhoeven, a former heavyweight kickboxing champion, with Wardley set to defend his WBO title against Dubois on May 9 in Manchester.
The Ukrainian has already beaten Dubois twice, both by knockout. He was in line to fight Wardley after the Brit became mandatory challenger with his win over Joseph Parker in October. However, Usyk vacated the WBO title instead of fighting Wardley.
Fury retired after losing to Usyk a second time in December 2024. He will return for his first fight since, against Arslanbek Makhmudov, on April 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Usyk also ruled out a fight against rising British heavyweight Moses Itauma.
"No, I [don't] want to fight with Itauma, because he's a young guy, I don't want to break this guy," Usyk added.
