MELBOURNE, Australia -- Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will face off for the Australian Open title on Sunday evening after both won epic five-set matches on what will go down as one of the greatest men's semifinal days in tennis history.

Djokovic, the 10-time champion at Melbourne Park, wound back the clock to produce the biggest upset win of his illustrious career in taking down reigning Australian Open titlist Jannik Sinner. The 38-year-old twice came from a set down and staved off 16 break point opportunities to dethrone Sinner 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in four hours and nine minutes, a grueling contest that finished after 1:30am local time.

But the Djokovic masterclass still wasn't the longest match of the day. Earlier, Alcaraz, the world No. 1, overcame cramps and injury to prevail 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-7(4), 7-5 over third-seed Alexander Zverev in a match that lasted five hours and 27 minutes, the third-longest in tournament history.

Day 13 also saw Australian duo Olivia Gadecki and John Peers defend their Australian Open mixed doubles title, coming from a set down to beat the all-French pair of Kristina Mladenovic and Manuel Guinard.

Yesterday, top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka booked her place in the women's final for the fourth consecutive year. She will square off with fifth-seed Elena Rybakina for the silverware, in a repeat of the 2023 Australian Open final.
