Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr. reinjures groin vs. Steelers

CLEVELAND -- Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. reinjured his groin in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and didn't return to Cleveland's 13-6 victory.

Fannin, who was questionable entering the game after injuring his groin in Friday's practice, aggravated the injury on his 28-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. He turned around and made an adjustment to bring in the pass from rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders before falling into the end zone. Fannin spent time in the medical tent before leaving for the locker room.

Fannin was seen walking in the postgame locker room and said that he was hopeful that he would be able to play in next Sunday's season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.

"That was unfortunate," Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said. "You know, we had the four tight ends up just because of that injury on Friday, so he's a huge part of what we do. You saw it right away when it happened, but that was an incredible job adjusting to that football. It was a good read by Shedeur, then to get in the end zone was great. But yeah, he was missed, like you can imagine."

The No. 67 overall pick in this year's draft, Fannin leads the Browns in receptions (72), receiving yards (731) and touchdown catches (6) this season.
