Barcelona vs. Real Madrid as it happened: Hosts seal 29th LaLiga title with 2-0 win over rivals at Nou Camp

Barcelona secured their 29th LaLiga title with a 2-0 win over their bitter rivals Real Madrid at the Nou Camp.

Needing just a draw to defend their title, it was always against Real Madrid, particularly following their tumultuous week.

And Barcelona came flying out of the blocks and went ahead after an excellent free kick from Marcus Rashford after eight minutes.

It did not take them long to head into a 2-0 lead, with Ferran Torres slotting the ball past Thibaut Courtois after some excellent link-up play from Dani Olmo.

It was the first time since 1932 when the title was decided in El Clasico and it was an even more special day as the Barcelona faithful were able to celebrate by lifting the title.

From a Real Madrid perspective, it was a horrible way to end what has been a disastrous week off the field, following the news that Fede Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni had a fight in training on Thursday.

They were immediately thrown into further difficulty when Dean Huijsen was withdrawn late on to injury, with Raúl Asencio taking his spot.

Jude Bellingham scored in the second half to temporarily put Los Blancos back into the game, but he was found to be offside.

Beyond that, it was a procession for Barcelona, with Thibaut Courtois having to make several saves to stop the score from getting away from Real Madrid.

Barcelona can now push to reach 100 points and to win the league with the biggest ever winning margin and most wins but tonight it was all about sealing the title against their rivals.
