The Women's Super League (WSL) side faced a stern test in the League Phase, with four of their six games coming against teams that have won their respective domestic league titles. Importants wins over Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid saw them enter the playoff round, where they overcame Atléti 5-0 on aggregate to enter their first-ever quarterfinal.
