Auqib Nabi played a key role in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) winning their first-ever piece of silverware - the Ranji Trophy title. Here we look at the sensational numbers that the fast bowler racked up for a team that had never made it to the top four in any competition before
60 Nabi finished the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 as the leading wicket-taker, bagging 60 wickets. His tally is the seventh-highest by any bowler in an edition of the Ranji Trophy and the third-highest among fast bowlers, behind Jaydev Unadkat's 67 in 2019-20 and Dodda Ganesh's 62 in 1998-99.
104 Wickets for Nabi across the last two Ranji seasons. Only four bowlers have taken more wickets across successive Ranji seasons, and only one of them is a seamer - Unadkat picked up 106 wickets in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Nabi took 13 five-wicket hauls in 18 matches over these two seasons, which puts him behind only Ashutosh Aman, who picked up 14 in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
1 Nabi became the first J&K bowler to bag 50-plus wickets in an edition of the Ranji Trophy. He is also the first J&K bowler to top the bowling charts in a Ranji season. The previous best finish for a J&K bowler was also Nabi in 2024-25, when he picked up 44 wickets and tied for second place joint-second behind Harsh Dubey (69).
8 five-wicket hauls for Nabi in 2025-26, the equal-most by any pacer in a first-class season in India. Maurice Tate in 1926-27 and Ron Oxenham in 1935-36 also bagged eight five-fors apiece in India.
Seven of those eight have come in the Ranji Trophy, also the joint-most by a pacer, alongside L Balaji (in 2002-03), Aniket Choudhary (in 2018-19) and Unadkat (in 2019-20). Overall, only Ashutosh Aman (nine in 2018-19) and Bishan Bedi (eight in 1974-75) have taken more five-fors in a single Ranji season.
13.25 Nabi's bowling average in this first-class season. Only four bowlers have averaged lower while taking 60-plus wickets in a first-class season in India. Nabi's 66 wickets in 2025-26 came at a strike rate of 29.50, the fourth-best by a bowler in a first-class season in India.
114* Nabi's score against Hyderabad in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game, the maiden hundred of his professional career, which came while batting at No. 8. It is the sixth-highest individual score while batting at No. 8 or lower in all List A cricket.
Before Nabi, only two Indian players had scored a hundred while batting at No. 8 or lower in the 50-overs game - 100* by Diwesh Pathania against Vidarbha in 2018 and 104* by Akshay Karnewar against Karnataka in 2022.
Nabi shared an unbeaten 182-run partnership for the eighth wicket with Vanshaj Sharma during that innings. It is the fourth-highest stand for the eighth wicket or lower in List A cricket, and the highest by a pair from India.
95 Wickets that Nabi bagged across all senior men's domestic tournaments in the 2025-26 season. His tally is the second-highest for any bowler in a season in India, behind Unadkat's 105 in 2019-20. Overall, Nabi's tally of 95 wickets is the sixth-most for any bowler in a season in India, across all formats.
